What one AI image costs, model by model

MegaScenes

An AI image is priced per output: one image of one model at one setting has one price, and asking for four images costs about four times as much. On MegaScenes that price is in credits, one credit is $0.01, and each model shows it on its page and on the Generate button before you generate.

One image on the main models

The "from" price is the cheapest setting of each model. The next column is a common higher setting, as the catalog lists it.

What moves the price of an image

Three settings change it, and which one depends on the model:

  • Resolution. Nano Banana 2 rises step by step from $0.20 at 1K to $0.40 at 4K. Nano Banana Pro lists $0.38 at 1K, $0.38 at 2K and $0.75 at 4K.
  • Quality. GPT Image 2 and Ideogram 4.5 price by a quality setting: the high setting of GPT Image 2 is $0.54 against $0.030 at low.
  • Megapixels. FLUX.2 Pro charges by the size of the frame: $0.080 at one megapixel, $0.19 at four.

The aspect ratio matters on a few models: a wide high-quality GPT Image 2 picture is $0.57 against $0.54 for a square one.

Picking by price

For drafts, the low setting of a quality-priced model or the smallest size of a resolution-priced one keeps the cost down; move to the higher setting for the final image only. Each model page lists every setting with its price, and the AI image generator guide compares all 52 image models side by side.

New accounts can try every model in the first week, $1 for 7 days with 150 credits.

Questions

Why does GPT Image 2 have three prices?

Its quality setting changes the provider's cost. A square image is $0.030 at low quality, $0.15 at medium and $0.54 at high.

Are four images four times the price of one?

Usually yes, since most image models charge per output. Nano Banana Pro, for example, is $0.38 for one image at 1K and $1.50 for four.
